I'd probably say this would be my first illustration. I did this in fall of 2006. It's about a soldier from a unique group formed to find and save these people who's mind are trapped in robots. The main character saves a woman trapped in a realistic robot body that was manufactured in an unknown, underground factory. Five years before, over a million people were mysteriously abducted. These robots seem to hold their minds and to free them is to find their real bodys, where they are being held.

The drawing is of the moment in the underground factory where he's trying to get out of the ground using his mech to fight off a huge construction robot that is being controlled by an unknown force. Probably a program created by the abductor to get back the woman.

This soldier becomes interested in her. Like the others, she doesn't know who she is, or what had happened. And for all he knows, she could be very young or very old, maybe tall or short, maybe a he. This tension tugs at him throughout this mission. Other robots are becoming a problem. A sort of virus are taking control over robots which are being used to "bring back his patient." A race of time to save them as the people's mind are deteriating from living in a metal body.

The story is sort of a look into certain things we do. I'm amazed how we communicate by listening or seeing someone through electronics while in the past it was direct communication. This isn't much of robots gaining control over humans, the mystery in all of this is who is doing this and why? So it's a human vs. human thing. Their's this plot twist at the middle in the end. I like making stories and this was the first that I had gone as far as making a conflict.

The illustration was done in Photoshop CS2. I used alot of references to build everything, that was the hard part. I get way too caught up in details so it took awhile to do. 91 hrs, sheesh. I'd probably have been more interested in this throughout if I weren't work on this with just a widescreen 13inch screen. heh
